Binky

I always thought Binky was just a slang word for a pacifier. Now I know that Binky, referring to a rabbit, is a leap of pure, unadulterated joy, when they cannot contain all the thrill and excitement running through their little, rabbit bodies.

His Majesty, our new rabbit, who is still in need of a name that is worthy of his adorable, royal, cuddly, sweet presence, demonstrated the Binky to me, just the other day. I’m still waiting for an opportunity to photograph/video it…

Chilling with his new friend Belle, (or Bellerina) in the house they share.

His previous owners called him Eloi (not clear on pronunciation), which seemed a bit blasphemous to us. (We also will not be calling him God, Jesus, Yahweh, Jehovah, Buddha, Muhammad, or the like.)

But when I met him, he’s so soft, fabulous, and elegant (and his previous owners francophone) that I identified him as Louis, King Louis, that is… the Sun King.

However, one of my sons pointed out that if he is a king but lives in the field, he should be called Nebuchadnezzar. King Nebuchadnezzar, to be precise. Nebi or King Nebi, for short.

His friend and roommate, Belle, is simultaneously terrified of him and drawn to him.

He has also been called the names of several other kings, but none of those have stuck. Leopold, nope. Ludwig, nah, although if he’s crazy enough and starts building lots of castles that he doesn’t complete, maybe? Charles? Nope. David? Solomon? Saul? No, no, no…

King Binky? Maybe?? Though Binky still makes me think of a pacifier…

Not exactly a Binky, but similar!
